About Democracy Droid
Democracy Droid is an Android app for listening to or watching the Democracy Now! news program. It distributes the program’s broadcast through streaming and download options, allowing users to play audio or video directly or save a broadcast for later. This provides a choice between listening or viewing while connected and downloading material for access afterward. The app also lets users open individual stories rather than treating each broadcast as one continuous program. Stories can be watched or listened to separately, and transcripts are available for reading. A live stream is included as well, so the app covers both scheduled live listening and access to program material on demand. Democracy Droid is described as a distribution app and is not affiliated with producing the program. Its role is to provide access to the broadcast and related stories in audio, video, and text forms. The combination of streaming, downloads, individual story access, transcripts, and live playback supports different ways of following the same news coverage, whether a user prefers to listen, watch, or read. The supplied description does not specify additional news sources or general-purpose news aggregation.
