About EnigmaDroid
EnigmaDroid lets users control an Enigma2-based satellite or cable receiver from an Android device. It provides channel and bouquet lists for navigating the receiver’s lineup, and supports adding, editing, or removing timers and scheduled recordings. Users can browse saved recordings, view electronic program guide information, and search or filter channels and programs. The app includes an on-screen remote control with a keypad and can stream live television or recordings to the device through an external media player. It supports connecting to multiple receivers and switching between them. Streaming playback requires a compatible player; VLC is recommended, though other players may work. To use EnigmaDroid, a user needs an Enigma2 set-top box with the OpenWebif plugin enabled and configured. Compatibility can vary by receiver software image, and some systems may need an updated plugin. The app is free and open source, with no ads or trackers according to its description. EnigmaDroid is a companion interface for an existing home receiver rather than a standalone television service. It combines remote control, schedule management, program information, and access to recordings so users can manage the receiver from around the home.
