About FadCam
FadCam is an Android video recorder for background recording, screen capture, and remote camera use. It can record video with the screen off, provide dashcam-style recording while driving or riding, and record the Android screen with annotation tools. Videos can be stored in fragmented MP4 format, which divides a recording into segments, and can include custom watermark text. The app supports live streaming over a local network and remote camera control through a web interface. These functions allow a user to view or control a camera from another device on the network. The description presents the app for home camera monitoring, dashcam recording, and screen capture. It is open source and described as having no ads or trackers. FadCam is a recording tool, and background camera or screen recording can capture sensitive material. Users should ensure they have permission to record and understand where recordings are stored and who can access the local stream. The evidence lists continuous and crash-safe reliability as design goals but does not guarantee that recordings can never be corrupted.
