About Geologische Zeitskala
Geologische Zeitskala displays the geological time scale of Earth’s history, from broad units such as eons down to epochs and stages. It shows the start of each period and identifies whether it has a Global Boundary Stratotype Section and Point (GSSP). Users can scroll through the scale, fit it to the display height, or switch to a true-to-scale view in which period lengths reflect their duration. Touching a period focuses the display on that point and the periods that follow. Columns can be added or removed to show more detailed or broader units, and horizontal swipes move between levels of detail. A search function highlights a named period. The app combines a browsable chronology with tools for navigating the very different time scales represented in geological history.
