About Grocy: Self-hosted Grocery Management
Grocy Android is a mobile companion for a self-hosted grocery and household management server. It provides a phone interface for reviewing stock, managing shopping lists, and updating product information. Shopping lists can be used offline, and an in-store mode uses larger controls to make checking items while shopping easier. Barcode scanning helps identify products quickly, and batch processing supports managing multiple items efficiently. The app also supports editing master data, using a barcode database integration, and switching to a dark theme. It is designed to connect to an existing server through its API; it does not operate as a standalone grocery database or manage products without that server. The in-app demo option can be used to try features before connecting a personal instance. Grocy Android requires Android 5.0 or later and a compatible server version. The app is open source and is described as having no ads, analytics, or in-app purchases. It is intended for households that already run the server and want mobile access to inventory and shopping workflows. The server remains the central place for product data, while the phone app provides scanning, list use, and stock management on the go.
