About JekyllEx

JekyllEx is a mobile development environment for creating and maintaining Jekyll websites on an Android device. Users can create a site locally or import an existing project, edit files with a syntax-highlighting code editor, and manage folders within the project. A terminal with multiple sessions and a built-in Ruby environment support running site commands from the device. The app can build and run a local site preview with automatic reloading as files change. Users can inspect the result in a browser on the same device, including offline, before publishing. Built-in version control supports managing project changes and connecting to a remote account. Files can be created, loaded from storage, or downloaded from a URL. JekyllEx is intended for making quick edits or working on a Jekyll site away from a desktop computer. Its embedded environment includes a site-hosting platform’s Ruby setup and default gems, while the project description says work can remain offline without a third-party backend. The mobile interface brings editing, terminal access, preview, and publishing into one workflow; a remote account is needed for the supported hosted publishing connection.
