About LabLog
LabLog is a digital laboratory notebook for recording procedures, observations, and measurements in a structured format. Entries can include text, numeric readings, and images, and each entry is automatically timestamped. Data keys can be attached to entries so records can be categorized, searched, and filtered according to the type of measurement or information they contain. The app can connect manual observations with readings from laboratory sensors. LabLog can send manually entered data to a server over MQTT, a messaging protocol commonly used to transmit data from connected devices. This supports a workflow where automated IoT sensor readings and human observations are stored alongside one another. For example, a user can enter a pH-strip result and send it to the same server as sensor data. LabLog is intended for laboratories that want electronic records organized with machine-readable measurements and supporting images. Its server connection depends on having an MQTT endpoint configured, while manual entries can be made through the app. The description presents timestamping and structured records as ways to improve traceability, but it does not detail access controls, audit history, or regulatory validation. It should be understood as a digital notebook and data-entry client rather than assumed to provide certified laboratory recordkeeping.
