About Libellus Potionis
Libellus Potionis is an Android app for recording alcohol consumption and reviewing personal drinking patterns. Users can define their own beverages or choose from common presets, then log drinks at the time they occur or enter them retroactively with adjusted timestamps. The app tracks three limits at once: a daily amount of pure alcohol, a rolling seven-day amount, and the maximum number of drinking days per week. Progress bars show how each limit is being used. The app can estimate blood alcohol concentration from entered body weight using the Widmark formula. It also generates a two-page PDF report of consumption for a counseling appointment. Data can be exported as CSV for analysis or backed up as JSON to move it between devices. A customizable day-start time lets late-night drinks count toward the prior evening, and users can choose an evaluation start date for beginning a fresh tracking period. Libellus Potionis operates offline and stores entered data in the app’s private storage. It has no network permission, tracking, analytics, or cloud sync, and an optional fingerprint lock protects access. The product is open source, free, and ad-free, and supports Android 11 or newer. The blood alcohol value is an estimate produced by the app, while the log and reports are personal records rather than medical assessment.
