About LibreAAC
LibreAAC is an offline communication app for people who use augmentative and alternative communication boards. Users select words or symbols, move between linked boards, build a phrase, and have the device speak the selected items or the complete phrase using an installed voice. Boards can include words, images, sounds, and links to other boards. Bundled boards help users get started. The app supports Open Board Format files in OBF and OBZ formats, and provides tools to import, edit, export, and back up boards locally. Labels, board fitting, speech, and scanning can be configured, while guarded editing controls can limit access to management functions. LibreAAC works without internet access, accounts, or an application server; files are opened or saved only when the user chooses them through Android’s file picker.
