About LibreStatus
LibreStatus helps users view and save photo and video statuses currently available on their device from WhatsApp. It has separate image and video tabs, a full-screen viewer with video playback and a scrubber, and a saved tab for returning to items already downloaded. A status can be saved to the gallery or reshared through WhatsApp or another app. The app also supports messaging a phone number through WhatsApp without first saving it as a contact. Light, dark, and system themes are available, and the interface is offered in eight languages. On Android 11 and later, users grant access to the relevant media folder through the system folder picker; older versions use storage access. LibreStatus works entirely on the device, with no internet permission, account, advertising, tracking, or data upload. It is an independent third-party app and is not affiliated with WhatsApp. Users should respect others’ privacy and content rights when saving or sharing statuses.
