About MeteoCompare
MeteoCompare is an Android weather app that compares output from multiple forecast models rather than presenting a single model as the whole forecast. It provides forecasts up to ten days where the underlying model data is available, with hourly charts, daily summaries, model-by-model tables, and a view of how forecasts have changed over recent days. The app keeps differences between models visible instead of filling in forecast data that a model does not provide. Users can compare four forecast calculation strategies, including multi-model consensus, local calibration, scenario views, and an adaptive method. The app separates current agreement among models from their historical reliability for a location. Optional notifications can provide a daily summary or alert users when models diverge or a forecast changes substantially. These notifications are computed on-device and are off by default. For compatible coastal locations, the app also shows waves, swell, sea temperature, and estimated tides. It can relay official weather warnings for locations in France; marine information is indicative and not intended for navigation. Favorites, preferences, caches, and history remain on the device. MeteoCompare has no account, ads, or analytics SDK and is open-source software.
