About Murem

Murem separates speech and dialogue from background music in video files. Users can provide a local video, paste a supported video URL, share a link from another app, or import a batch of URLs from a text file. The app offers several separation models and can export an audio-only version of the vocal track as an MP3 with a selectable bitrate. Custom separation models are also supported. A processing queue can be paused, skipped, or cancelled, and its state persists across crashes. The built-in video player shows an audio waveform that can be scrubbed, looped, and controlled with playback and volume actions. Users can review searchable processing history, inspect video metadata, and export multiple results together. A home screen widget provides shortcuts for URL entry, file upload, batch processing, and settings. Processing can run locally on the phone through a terminal environment, or on a user-managed server for GPU-accelerated work. The app can discover a server on the local network or connect through a configured address. Murem describes itself as self-hosted, with processing on the device or the user’s own server rather than third-party servers. It supports light, dark, black, and system themes and multiple interface languages.
