About Nextcloud Pantry
Nextcloud Pantry is an Android companion for a self-hosted household organizer. It connects to a Nextcloud server running the Pantry app and provides shared checklists, a photo board, and a notes wall. Lists can include categories, quantities, recurring items, and images, and can be reordered or sorted. The photo board organizes images into folders with captions, while shared notes can use color coding, Markdown, and pins. Pantry also includes a Wear OS app. From a watch, users can check items off lists, manage a shopping trip between shops, record purchases, read notes, complete note tasks, and browse photos. A tile keeps lists accessible from the watch face, and an active shopping trip can remain visible while the app is closed. Setup can begin on the watch with phone approval or use a QR code. The app caches information for faster loading and uses a secure login flow. Pantry connects directly to the user’s server; it does not require a separate account or intermediary cloud service. Its Material Design 3 interface supports dark mode. A compatible self-hosted server with Pantry installed is required.
