About Notes Tech
Notes Tech is a local Markdown notes app for people who want encrypted notebooks without network access. Notes are stored in an encrypted database, with separate vaults that can be protected by a passphrase or a device-bound PIN. The app supports an optional PIN or biometric lock, configurable auto-lock, and a panic mode that deletes keys, the database, and the imported dictation model. Notes can include headings, lists, and links. Wiki-style backlinks connect notes by title, and a panel shows which notes link to the current one. Full-text search, configurable sorting, and a trash area support everyday organization. Notes can be exported as Markdown individually or in a ZIP archive with metadata compatible with common writing tools. On-device voice dictation is available after the user imports a speech-recognition model, which is checked before loading. Recordings are deleted after transcription. Microphone permission is requested only when dictation is enabled. Notes Tech works fully offline and has no internet permission, account, ads, or tracking. Its security features include encrypted storage, passphrase or device-key vaults, and an optional five-failure wipe for PIN-protected vaults. These controls help protect stored notes, but the user must still protect device access and vault credentials. The app is available in English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.
