About NouTube
NouTube combines access to video and music content in one Android app, using web views of the mobile video and music websites. It supports background playback and playback controls, and can play original audio. Users can manage a watchlist, music library, and viewing history without signing in. Other features include video downloads, live chat, an RSS reader for channel feeds, and an option to hide short-form videos. Custom CSS can be used to adjust the presentation. The app’s design wraps the websites and injects code to block advertisements, while also connecting playback controls to Android background playback. This makes it a combined browsing and media player interface rather than a separately described content service. Its watch and music lists, history, and channel feeds are managed without an account according to the supplied description. A desktop edition is also described as sharing the same code base, with versions for Linux, macOS, and Windows. The available information does not detail download formats, storage limits, or which website features may change or remain available over time.
