About OctoLab
OctoLab is an Android client for a code-hosting and project-management service, with support for hosted and self-hosted instances. It supports multiple accounts, including personal access token login, so users can switch among separate work or personal profiles. The app brings common project workflows to a phone, including browsing issues, creating or editing them, commenting, and filtering by label, assignee, or milestone. For code review, users can view merge requests, comment, inspect diffs, and follow continuous-integration pipeline status. A to-do list can be filtered by action type, such as assignments, mentions, or review requests. Activity feeds show recent activity for the user, projects, and starred projects. Repository browsing includes files, documentation, branches, tags, commits, and releases. OctoLab can also provide push notifications for new to-do items. It renders Markdown, including tables, task lists, code blocks, and images, and offers light and dark themes. The app is aimed at developers and project contributors who need to review work and respond to issues while away from a desktop. The description states that the app has no tracking, analytics, or proprietary services. It requests permission to install packages only when the user chooses to download a release APK from a project page inside the app; installation is not automatic or performed in the background. OctoLab requires a configured account or instance to access project data.
