About OMN-Go
OMN-Go is a self-hosted personal wiki for Markdown notes. It runs a small web server on the device and displays notes as linked HTML pages. Each note is a Markdown file with a header for its title, date, and tags. Notes can link to one another, and an automatically generated Tags page indexes the collection. Users can edit with the built-in editor or an external text editor, capture quick notes, and save bookmarks through Android’s share function. The app can search pages, render mathematical formulas, and highlight fenced code blocks. OMN-Go works offline by default. Optional Git synchronization over SSH can keep notes aligned across devices and shows conflicts for manual merging or safe pull and push operations. Optional LAN sharing lets another device read or edit notes over HTTP using a password. This traffic is unencrypted, so the description warns to use it only on a network the user controls. A built-in SQL database can be read and written by note scripts, and its contents can be backed up alongside the notes. Scripts and the SQL API have full rights and can change or delete any note or database. The app is designed for one person and has no separate accounts; administrator and guest roles share the same notes. On Android, notes can optionally open system settings, start other apps, or run Termux commands through intents. These actions are disabled by default. OMN-Go also runs on Linux and Windows, and can synchronize the same notes through Git. Android 6.0 or later is listed, but the app requires a system WebView based on Chromium 85 or newer; older Android installations may need that component updated. OMN-Go has no ads, analytics, or trackers and does not need an internet connection for ordinary local note work. Its scripts and LAN sharing are powerful, so users should maintain backups and understand which actions are enabled.
