About Open Notes
Open Notes is an offline Android note-taking app with Markdown formatting and image support. Notes can include headings, checklists, code blocks, quotations, and photos embedded alongside text. Users can color-code, pin, and sort notes to organize a collection, while home screen widgets provide quick access to important entries. The app supports biometric locking and can block screenshots of note content. Light and dark themes and a configurable home screen icon provide additional appearance choices. A complete library can be exported or imported as a single ZIP file for backup or transfer. Open Notes stores notes locally and does not request internet access. The app is open-source and has no trackers or analytics according to its description. It is intended for people who want formatted notes, local images, and simple organization without requiring an online account or sync service.
