About Open Video Editor
Open Video Editor is an Android app for making basic edits to video files. It can trim clips, resize them, rotate the frame, apply visual filters, or convert footage to grayscale. These tools support straightforward changes such as shortening a clip, adapting its dimensions, or changing its appearance without needing a desktop editing workflow. The app also works with video and audio formats: users can extract an audio track from a video, convert high dynamic range footage to standard dynamic range, or convert a video to another format. HDR support allows it to handle footage with a wider range of brightness and color than standard video. Open Video Editor is focused on editing and conversion tasks rather than a multitrack production timeline. Its listed operations cover common adjustments to an existing video and extracting audio for separate use. The app is built for Android using the Media3 media framework and Jetpack Compose.
