About OpenCamera Sensors
OpenCamera Sensors is an Android camera app for recording video together with synchronized motion-sensor data. It records readings from the accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer alongside video frame timestamps, using a shared clock so the two data streams can be compared accurately. The synchronized recording is intended for workflows such as 3D reconstruction, simultaneous localization and mapping, augmented reality, and video stabilization. The app can synchronize video recording across multiple phones with sub-millisecond accuracy. It also supports remote control over a network, allowing one device or controller to coordinate recording on other devices. This makes it possible to collect sensor and video data from several devices as part of a coordinated capture session. OpenCamera Sensors is designed for users who need more than ordinary video capture, particularly when video timing must correspond with motion measurements. Its combination of camera recording, IMU data, multi-phone synchronization, and remote controls supports technical capture and analysis workflows.
