About PayNoWay

PayNoWay is a Bitcoin wallet app designed to test payment systems against double-spend attacks. It can send payment transactions through a wallet-style flow and then broadcast a conflicting transaction, allowing developers or businesses to evaluate how their systems handle an attempted double spend. The app can fetch the current network fee rate or use a custom value, and can optionally broadcast the conflicting transaction automatically. Users can also choose whether the original payment output is dropped or replaced with a small amount. The app supports Bitcoin mainnet and testnet and several address types, including legacy and SegWit formats. Its transaction history lets users rebroadcast prior transactions, copy raw transaction data, and refresh locally stored transaction information through configured web services. A statistics dashboard compares payment and double-spend transactions by count and total value, and can be reset. PayNoWay is intended for testing and education; its description explicitly says not to attempt double spending against merchants without their consent and notes that success is not guaranteed. It interacts with network services to broadcast transactions and retrieve fee, history, and unspent-output data. Private keys require a separate backup, since losing the device or app without a backup can permanently lose access to funds.
