About PeerTube
PeerTube is a mobile app for watching and publishing videos across a network of interconnected video platforms. Users can browse videos and creators across different servers, search for videos, channels, or topics, and follow channels. An account is not required to explore the network, while signing in adds access to playlists, viewing history, subscriptions, and settings. Users can comment on videos and download them for offline viewing. The app can also upload videos from the device, making it possible to contribute content to the network. Its home screen shows updates, and a library keeps watched or saved videos together. PeerTube’s federation means content is hosted across many independently operated servers rather than one central video service, while the mobile app provides a single interface for discovering and interacting with that distributed catalog.
