About Prediktor
Prediktor records a numeric data series and uses statistical sampling to estimate how it may continue. Users can enter measurements such as temperature, percentage, pH, or another number and add them to a series. A long press on the add control lets a measurement be assigned to a different time rather than the current moment. The app uses a Markov chain Monte Carlo ensemble sampler to extrapolate from the recorded values. It presents a most-likely prediction together with a 95% confidence interval, which communicates a range of uncertainty rather than a guaranteed outcome. The product description says the method accounts for errors in the data. Longer series can be saved under a name and reopened later. Prediktor is intended as a lightweight tool for exploring trends in numeric observations; predictions are statistical estimates based on the values entered, and their usefulness depends on the data series and context.
