About RaagaDB
RaagaDB is a reference app for Carnatic music ragas. It includes Melakartha and Janya ragas and organizes information using a unique identifier based on the swaras in a Melakartha raga. The identifier assigns one bit to each of sixteen swaras, marking which are present in the raga. A twelve-swara variant is also described for the twelve-swara system used in Hindustani music. The app is intended as a database for looking up raga information rather than a music player or performance tool. The available product description does not specify search, audio examples, notation, or the full fields stored for each raga. Its central feature is the structured collection of Carnatic raga data and the identifier derived from swara membership.
