About RapidSplit

RapidSplit helps groups divide travel costs according to who participated in each part of a trip. Users organize a trip into legs—such as an outbound journey, shuttle, or return—and mark which people rode on each leg. Only participants assigned to that leg share its travel costs. Vehicle expenses can be calculated using a per-kilometer rate or from fuel costs divided according to kilometers traveled. The app also handles other trip expenses. Driver-specific costs such as tolls, parking, or permits can be assigned to individual legs, while shared items such as groceries or campsites can include multiple payers. Foreign currencies and stored daily exchange rates are supported. Users can combine balances for a family or club, manage several trips at once, and see costs per person and a settlement plan showing who pays whom with the fewest transfers. Results can be exported as PDF or CSV. Trips can be shared by QR code or a short code so participants can edit together. The product states that this collaboration uploads an end-to-end encrypted copy to its server and that shared trips can be deleted from the server. By default, data remains on the device, and the app requires no account. It is described as working offline, with no tracking or ads. RapidSplit includes a tutorial and sample trip, and its interface is available in English and German. It is intended for groups that need to account for different participants across multiple trip segments rather than splitting every cost evenly among everyone. The trip model makes participation explicit for each leg, which avoids charging someone for a segment they did not travel. Per-leg driver expenses can be kept separate from shared group costs, and multiple payers can be recorded for common purchases. Balances can be consolidated for a family or club when the group wants a single settlement view. The minimum-transfer calculation then reduces the number of payments required to settle the result. Offline use and local storage are the default; collaboration is an optional path that sends an encrypted copy to the service.
