About Ruslin
Ruslin is a note-taking app with folders, Markdown editing, and synchronization through a self-hosted Joplin server. Users can create, edit, and delete notes and folders, format text with a Markdown toolbar, and search note contents. Its full-text search supports Chinese and English using the included text-processing library. Synchronization can be started manually or configured to run automatically, allowing notes to be kept in step with a self-hosted server. The app is described as being in beta, so its maintainers advise keeping backups. Compatibility with Joplin’s synchronization format is described as possible, but end-to-end encryption is not supported. This makes Ruslin’s primary role a straightforward Markdown notebook with server-based sync, while its stated beta status and encryption limitation matter when deciding what information to store in it.
