About SayWhen
SayWhen creates calendar events from short natural-language phrases instead of requiring users to fill out separate date and time fields. Users can type an event in English, Russian, Italian, Spanish, German, or French, with examples covering a one-time event, a duration, a reminder, and recurring weekdays. As the phrase is entered, the app parses the date, time, duration, recurrence, and reminder and shows a live preview of what it understood. The event is then written to a calendar chosen by the user. A home-screen widget provides quick access to the entry field. SayWhen has no account or server, does not use network access, and requests permission to read the calendar list and write the requested event. Events go to the selected calendar; if that calendar is connected to an account with its own synchronization, the calendar application’s sync process may upload the event. SayWhen is designed for quick event entry when typing a phrase is easier than completing a form. The live preview gives the user a chance to check the interpretation before relying on the event. It supports multiple languages, but the evidence does not specify parsing behavior for every date convention or ambiguous phrase.
