About SSTV Encoder
SSTV Encoder turns an image into audio for slow-scan television (SSTV), a way to transmit still pictures using radio audio signals. Users can take a picture, choose one from another app, or share an image into the encoder. The app supports several SSTV mode families, including Martin, PD, Robot, Scottie, and Wraase modes. It preserves the image’s aspect ratio by adding black borders when needed and scales it to the selected mode’s native size. Users can rotate the image and add text overlays. Overlays can be edited, moved, and removed; they are saved between sessions, while the loaded image itself is not retained after the app closes. A picture can be resent with another mode without loading it again. The Play command sends the image as audio, Stop halts the current transmission and clears the queue, and the app can also save the encoded audio as a WAV file. SSTV Encoder is intended for preparing and transmitting still images through compatible radio equipment; its supplied information does not describe receiving or decoding transmissions.
