About Subtitle Blocker
Subtitle Blocker is an Android overlay for covering hard-coded subtitles displayed in videos or social-media clips. When enabled, the overlay can collapse into a small tab at the edge of the screen or expand into a movable, resizable rectangle positioned over the subtitle area. Users can choose its colors, opacity, and which screen edge holds the collapsed tab. The rectangle can be resized by dragging its corners and repositioned by dragging elsewhere. Tapping the chevrons collapses it to the side tab, and tapping the tab expands it again. A triple tap opens settings. A Quick Settings tile can turn the overlay on or off without opening the app. The app is intended for obscuring text embedded in the video image, which cannot be disabled through ordinary playback controls. It does not remove subtitles from the video file itself; the overlay simply covers the area where they appear.
