About Tallybook
Tallybook is an offline expense and budget manager for recording transactions across multiple wallets. Each wallet has its own balance and can be organized into named groups. Users track income and expenses with categories and notes, and can select several transactions at once to delete them or move them to another wallet or category. Automatic categorization rules can fill in a category based on text entered for a transaction. Budgets help track category spending, while recurring transactions support bills and regular income. The app also manages multiple currencies, debts and credits, savings goals, and scheduled events. Reports, charts, and a calendar view show financial activity, and a home-screen widget can display a wallet balance. Transaction templates make repeated entries easier. Data can be exported to CSV, Excel, or PDF, and CSV files can be imported. Local backups can be saved and restored, including through a folder that the user may synchronize independently. Tallybook can also back up to a user’s WebDAV server. Optional location attachments use OpenStreetMap. The app requires no account or sign-up and contains no ads. Data stays on the device unless the user exports or backs it up; optional app locking supports a PIN, pattern, or fingerprint. Tallybook is intended for people who want a detailed personal finance record without relying on a hosted account.
