About TaskDav
TaskDav is an open-source Android app for tasks, notes, and calendar events. It can be used entirely offline on the phone or synchronized with a user’s CalDAV server. The app uses standard calendar-data types for tasks, notes, and events, and keeps server credentials encrypted on the device. It is described as having no ads, analytics, crash tracking, or dependency on Google Play Services. Tasks can be nested and organized into categories, with tags, due dates, and priorities. A task can optionally link to a calendar event. The home dashboard groups items into overdue, due today, and upcoming views. Calendar display supports day, week, month, year, and list formats, while home-screen widgets can show today’s agenda, week or month views, tasks, and notes. Users can share entries as text or as an ICS calendar file. An optional phone-calendar mirror can import or display calendar data through Android’s calendar system. The app can also work alongside a DAV synchronization service on the same account. Themes can be based on a chosen color, and the interface is available in English, Spanish, and Italian. TaskDav is intended for people who want an integrated task, note, and calendar organizer while keeping the option of local-only use. Synchronization requires a compatible CalDAV server and is optional; users can also work without connecting to one. The available information does not specify server-specific capabilities or how conflicts are resolved during synchronization. The task model supports both hierarchy and metadata: tasks can be nested, assigned to categories, tagged, prioritized, and given due dates. Calendar events can remain separate or be linked to a task. The dashboard surfaces items that are overdue, due today, or coming up, and widgets provide quick views without opening the full app. Calendar views range from a single day to a year or agenda list. Data can also be shared as plain text or an ICS file, which offers a portable calendar representation.
