About Tine
Tine is a local-first outliner that reads and writes a Markdown or Org graph on disk. It supports nested outlines, tasks and priorities, journals, page and block references, queries with a visual builder, and linked PDFs or media. Notes can be exported as HTML. The app edits a folder chosen by the user, allowing other tools to access the same files. Tine requires broad file access to work with an ordinary shared folder, but it only uses the graph folder selected by the user. It has no account, server, or synchronization service. Network access is used only for remote images or media linked in notes; if notes contain no remote links, the app makes no network requests. This makes Tine a local knowledge workspace with links and queries rather than a hosted notes service.
