About xlog2
xlog2 is a mobile field logbook for amateur radio operators, built to record radio contacts, known as QSOs, and synchronize them with a desktop station. The phone and desktop share the same peer-to-peer network, so a contact entered on one device can be distributed to the other connected nodes without a central server or cloud account. Synchronization runs over a local network and requires a peer to trust the phone’s identity before sharing logs. The entry form is designed for use in the field, with a prominent callsign field, duplicate detection, and automatic resolution of country, continent, and radio-region details. It can infer the band from frequency, and includes offline country lookups from a bundled callsign-prefix table. Logs can be imported from or exported to ADIF files, a common format for exchanging amateur-radio contact records. Optional functions include USB HID Morse paddle input for keying a networked CW station and callsign lookups through an external service using the operator’s own account. These functions are not required for logging or peer synchronization, which the description says work offline. xlog2 is intended for operators who want to enter contacts away from their desktop and have those records join the same log across trusted devices on the local mesh.
