About Zanshin Calendar
Zanshin Calendar displays dates and almanac information in the Tibetan Phugpa calendar or the traditional Japanese calendar using Tenpō rules. It presents one day at a time, including lunar or traditional calendar details and associated observances. The Tibetan view includes lunar dates, festivals, monthly observances, and readings from the calendar tradition; the Japanese view includes lunar date, moon phase, solar terms, and traditional day annotations. The app also shows sunrise, solar noon, and sunset for the user’s location. Calendar readings include details that change within a day, and users can browse guidance about dates and hours associated with particular activities. These are presented as almanac readings from the respective traditions. A meditation timer is included, with sessions composed of warm-up and meditation periods of chosen lengths, bells at the beginning and end, and a woodblock sound between periods. A mindfulness bell is also available. Zanshin Calendar brings traditional calendar references and meditation timing together for users who want to consult these systems alongside daily timekeeping.
