About AirPlay Server
AirPlay Server turns an Android device into a receiver for AirPlay audio and video. It supports screen mirroring with H.264 and H.265 video decoding, as well as audio streams encoded with AAC-ELD, AAC-LC, or ALAC. Video playback supports HLS, downloaded content, and remote controls; music playback can show track information and cover art with playback controls. The app supports Android TV navigation through a directional pad and includes seeking controls. Picture-in-picture, automatic resolution and mode switching, and adjustable video resolution, overscan, and frame rate provide options for different screens and playback conditions. Audio latency can be adjusted, and a software decoder fallback is available. An optional PIN can be required for access. A debug overlay shows live playback statistics such as frame rate, bitrate, codec, resolution, frame count, and audio volume. Android media-session integration provides controls through system notifications. AirPlay Server is intended for receiving streams or mirrored screens on an Android device, including Android TV, while exposing settings for tuning video and audio playback.
