About AndroDNS

AndroDNS is an Android DNS client for making customized DNS queries from a phone. Users can choose whether a query goes to a recursive or authoritative server, or use the system resolver by default. It also allows the question type to be set beyond common record types, including entry of a numeric type identifier for newer or experimental types. The client supports the IN, CH, and HS query classes and lets users set question flags. AndroDNS is intended for people who need to inspect or test DNS behavior with more control than a basic lookup interface typically provides. It can request and display DNSSEC signatures (RRSIGs), but the product description explicitly says that it does not validate them. This distinction matters: the client can surface signature records, but it does not claim to verify DNSSEC authenticity. The available information does not describe response formatting, query history, or other record-handling features. Its documented role is a flexible DNS query client with configurable server, type, class, and flags.
