About BwareArea
BwareArea is an offline GPS point-of-interest alert app with an always-on-top overlay. Users import a list of locations and configure how the app should alert them as they approach each point. The overlay shows the nearest point of interest, while alerts can be based on distance and whether the user is within an allowed speed range. The minimum warning distance and allowed overspeed can be adjusted. The app can optionally start when the phone connects to a car’s Bluetooth system, and it can log a GPS track. Its design is intended for use alongside offline navigation, where the navigation app may not provide alerts for the imported points. Depending on local law, users can choose a range-based alert rather than an alert tied to an exact position. This provides a configurable way to handle location warnings where regulations differ. BwareArea is useful for displaying nearby custom POIs and their configured requirements while another app is being used for navigation. It depends on an imported POI list and GPS location, and its alert behavior depends on the thresholds set by the user.
