About Captain qBit

Captain qBit is an Android client for managing a self-hosted qBittorrent server through its Web API. A live torrent list shows speeds, progress, and estimated completion times. Users can sort, search, and filter torrents by status, category, tracker, or tag, and open detailed views for torrent information, files, trackers, and peers. The app can add magnet links or torrent files, select files to download, set per-file priorities, choose a save path, and start paused. It also supports rechecking and reannouncing torrents, renaming them, changing save paths, and managing categories and tags. Multiple servers can be configured. Optional RSS browsing and rules can automatically download matching items, while alerts can notify users when a download or recheck finishes. Captain qBit supports server authentication through credentials, an API key, or a reverse proxy, and can handle self-signed certificates after the user approves a fingerprint. Encrypted backups preserve server settings. Users can configure refresh intervals, quiet hours for alerts, and schedules for alternate speed limits. The client supports qBittorrent 4.x and 5.x and is free and open source under GPL version 3. It requires a running server and is not a standalone downloader.
