About ConnectBot
ConnectBot is an Android client for opening secure shell (SSH) sessions to remote servers. It gives users a terminal on a phone or tablet for working with remote command-line tools, and saved hosts make frequently used connections easier to manage. Sessions can remain active while the user switches to another app, supporting longer remote tasks without keeping ConnectBot in the foreground. Connections can use SSH public key authentication, and the app supports port forwarding for routing network connections through an SSH session. Users can adjust terminal colors, fonts, and other connection settings to suit their workflow. These features make ConnectBot useful for administering or interacting with remote systems from a mobile device. The Android build described here includes its cryptography provider and does not require Google Play Services.
