About CycleStreets journey planner
CycleStreets is a cycling route planner for journeys anywhere in the United Kingdom. Users can plan a route from one place to another and choose among four routing modes intended for different kinds of cyclists, from beginners to regular commuters. The app presents cycle routes using OpenStreetMap and OpenCycleMap maps, which can be cached before a trip. The Photomap feature lets users submit pictures of cycling infrastructure problems or examples of good practice around the UK. This adds a reporting function alongside route planning, allowing the app to collect visual information about conditions relevant to cyclists. CycleStreets combines route planning and map browsing, with advance map caching useful when preparing for a journey. The supplied information does not list the four routing modes by name or describe turn-by-turn navigation behavior, so those details are not assumed.
