About Daedalus

Daedalus changes Android’s DNS resolver settings through a local VPN tunnel, without requiring root access. Users can select a custom DNS server, test DNS servers, and configure custom hosts or DNSMasq rules. It supports IPv6 and can operate over mobile data as well as Wi-Fi. DNS requests can use UDP, TCP, DNS over TLS, or DNS over HTTPS, including a JSON-based HTTPS method. This allows users to choose how name lookups are sent and which resolver handles them. The VPN tunnel is used to apply DNS configuration on the device; the product is a DNS management tool rather than a general-purpose external VPN service.
