About De1984
De1984 combines an Android firewall with package-management tools. The firewall can block selected apps from using Wi-Fi, mobile data, or roaming independently. Users can choose a default policy that blocks all traffic unless allowed, or allows all traffic unless blocked. Screen-off blocking and network-state monitoring can apply rules automatically as connectivity changes. Several firewall backends are available, with automatic selection based on device capabilities. Rooted devices can use iptables for kernel-level filtering; Android 13 and later can use ConnectivityManager through Shizuku; and a local VPN backend offers a no-root option across Android versions. Requirements depend on the chosen method, so not every feature is available on every device. With Shizuku or root access, De1984 can also enable or disable system apps, force-stop processes, and uninstall system or user apps. Package lists can be filtered by app type or enabled state and searched. The app requires Android 8 or later. De1984 stores data locally and is described as having no tracking or analytics. Its separate firewall and package-management functions give users controls over network access and installed software, while the selected privilege method determines which operations the device permits.
