About Destiny
Destiny transfers files between people using short codes, without requiring sign-up or disclosure of names, email addresses, or phone numbers. The sender chooses a file and shares a generated code with the intended recipient, who uses it to receive the transfer. The app is based on the Magic Wormhole protocol and is designed for end-to-end encrypted transfers. It attempts to establish a direct connection between sender and recipient; when that is not possible, it can use a relay server that sees encrypted packets rather than file contents. The short code participates in a password-authenticated key exchange that derives a stronger encryption key. Destiny is intended for one-off file sharing without accounts or persistent cloud storage. Both parties need to coordinate the transfer code and be available for the transfer. The supplied description does not specify file-size limits, resumability, or how long relay data is retained, so users should check transfer behavior for large or interrupted uploads.
