About Device Connect
Device Connect links an Android phone with a desktop computer for transferring files and sharing selected information. Users can upload files from the phone to the desktop, open phone files and web links on the computer, and download files from desktop folders that have been predefined for access. Phone notifications can also be shown on the desktop. The app can run recurring synchronization tasks for directories, contacts, SMS, and clipboard content. It can also execute commands that have been predefined on the desktop. This makes Device Connect useful for moving information and triggering selected desktop actions from a phone, with the available operations configured in advance. Connections are described as protected with AES-256 encryption and a password. Device Connect requires a corresponding desktop setup, and the listed sync tasks may involve personal information such as messages and contacts. The supplied description does not detail which desktop operating systems are supported or how each task is configured.
