About droidVNC-NG
droidVNC-NG turns an Android device into a VNC server so it can be viewed and controlled remotely without root access. A VNC client can see the shared screen and, when the app’s accessibility service is enabled, send mouse and keyboard input. Remote controls include navigation, Home, Back, Recent Apps, power, and volume functions. Multiple connected clients can have distinct mouse pointers. Text can be copied and pasted between the device and a client, with some copy behavior depending on whether the text is selected in an editable field or shared to the app. A web browser can also access the shared screen, and native clients can discover the server automatically. Users can set a custom port and a connection password. The server can start on device boot, and a reverse VNC option allows the phone to initiate a connection to a client. Repeater support is also listed. droidVNC-NG is useful for remote access or kiosk-style control, but remote control requires accessibility access. Password protection is configurable; the supplied description specifically notes it is required for one built-in desktop screen-sharing client. The server’s network exposure and chosen access settings should be considered when enabling remote viewing.
