About Duorem

Duorem is a phone and tablet remote for waking, shutting down, or restarting one computer. It uses Wake-on-LAN to turn on a compatible machine, which must be configured to support that network feature. For a Linux computer, shutdown and restart commands are sent over SSH; the SSH account must have sudo privileges. The app offers large controls, a computer search function for initial setup, and status and command feedback. It is designed to make basic power control easier for people who are less comfortable with computer interfaces. Duorem controls a single computer at a time and contains no ads. SSH credentials are stored in the app’s preferences without encryption, according to the supplied description. This is relevant when deciding whether to save credentials on a shared or rooted device.
