About EasySSHFS
EasySSHFS is an Android interface for mounting a remote filesystem over SSH File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) using SSHFS. After configuring the connection and mount point, files on the remote system can be accessed through the mounted filesystem. The app includes an SSH client and supports public-key authentication when the key path is supplied in the SSHFS options. A rooted Android device is required because the filesystem mount interface is not available to ordinary apps. Password-protected keys are not supported. The product description warns that SSHFS is a poor choice for the simple task of viewing files from a computer on an Android phone, since Android storage behavior requires users to understand internal implementation details. It suggests using an Android document provider for SFTP or another file-access method for that use case. EasySSHFS is therefore intended for users who specifically need SSHFS and understand how Android mount points and storage locations work. The app exposes those details rather than hiding them behind a simple file browser. Its setup and usability depend on root access, SSH configuration, and choosing an appropriate mount point for the Android version.
