About Every Door
Every Door is a mobile editor for OpenStreetMap points of interest and small map details. It is designed for on-the-ground checking: while visiting a shopping area, a mapper can see nearby shops, confirm places that are still present, and add businesses missing from the map. This makes it possible to update local map information while looking at the locations being mapped. The app also has a micromapping mode for verifying or adding features such as benches and street lamps. An entrance mode supports recording building entrances and attributes, with those details joined into the mapped building outline. These focused workflows help mappers improve both points of interest and the small physical details that make a map more useful to people navigating an area. Every Door uses map presets and related data from the iD editor to guide the information entered for mapped features. It is intended as a field editing tool, with the supplied description emphasizing a direct process of checking existing features and adding missing ones. Its main workflows center on shops, street furniture, building attributes, and entrances.
