About FOSS Warn

FOSS Warn is an Android app for receiving emergency alerts from more than one hundred countries. It aggregates official alert feeds through a separate public alert service and can display alerts on a map. Push notifications are supported through UnifiedPush, allowing the app to notify users about reported hazards such as flooding, tsunamis, or bomb disposal. The app uses a Material 3 interface and presents alerts from supported sources. Its coverage depends on the countries and feeds included in the alert service, and not every region will have the same type or timeliness of information. FOSS Warn and the service that aggregates feeds are described as independent from official authorities. FOSS Warn can provide a convenient way to view alerts from multiple countries in one place, but the app is not itself an official emergency authority. Users should understand that alert availability and accuracy depend on the underlying feeds and aggregation service.
