About GraphHopper Maps
GraphHopper Maps is an online route planner with experimental GPS navigation. It calculates routes and alternatives for several transport modes, including driving, cycling, cargo biking, hiking, and walking. Users can add multiple stops and inspect route attributes such as elevation, surface, and maximum speed, with summary statistics for the planned route. When GPS is enabled, a calculated route can be followed with navigation guidance toward the destination. The service is based on open map data, and the complete routing stack can be hosted on a user-managed server. Its routing and navigation depend on map coverage, location signals, and the chosen mode of travel. The navigation feature is described as experimental, so users should not assume it provides the reliability of a dedicated navigation system. Routes and instructions may be unsuitable or unsafe in some conditions; users should follow local rules and use their own judgment. The app is primarily a route-planning tool with optional GPS guidance.
